Catching Stripers From the Dock

I had heard from neighbors that they were our there. So, over the course of a few weeks last fall, I brought my trusty fishing rod down to the dock to take a few casts to see for myself. Somehow I managed to snag a minnow with my lure and even managed to bring up a small crab.
But the stripers eluded me. Or more likely out-witted me.
But then one day in October, my luck changed. This was no minnow or crab! I knew I had something decent on the line. He put up a good fight and let me get a good look once I reeled him in. I muttered a quick "thank you fish", and let him go.
I had finally joined the REA striper-from-the-dock club! Can't wait till next season!
